Step-up transformers and packaged substations for wind farms, photovoltaic plants and battery storage — including the cold, coastal and high-altitude sites that ordinary catalogues ignore.
Renewable sites are hard to reach and expensive to visit. A transformer that fails on a ridge line costs far more than the price difference between a good unit and an average one. The design has to survive wide temperature swings, condensation, dust, salt air and, at altitude, reduced dielectric strength.
We build step-up and station service transformers for wind, solar and storage projects, and we hold a utility model patent for an outdoor oil-immersed transformer designed for high-altitude wind power stations — the exact condition that causes standard units to fail.
Ratings are set by the inverter or turbine output, the collector system voltage and the site conditions. Tell us the site and we will propose the arrangement.
| Application | Typical configuration |
|---|---|
| Wind turbine step-up | Packaged substation with oil-immersed transformer, 900–2500 kVA, 0.69/33 kV or 0.69/35 kV, mounted at the tower base |
| Wind farm collector substation | Oil-immersed transformer, 1250–2500 kVA, 33/35 kV, ONAN or ONAF, cold climate design |
| High altitude wind site | Outdoor oil-immersed transformer with altitude-corrected insulation clearances and low temperature rise |
| Photovoltaic plant | PV step-up packaged substation, 1000–2500 kVA, 0.4/35 kV or 0.8/35 kV |
| Battery storage | Dry-type or oil-immersed transformer for station service and converter step-up |
| Coastal or dusty site | Increased creepage bushings, sealed tank, corrosion protection and IP-rated enclosures |
Altitude, ambient range, humidity, dust and seismic level are treated as design inputs, and stated on the data sheet we send back.
On a renewable site the transformer runs at high load for years. Class-1 energy efficiency units often pay for themselves within the project life.
We plan the packing, reinforcement and loading for remote sites, and supply the drawings needed for site lifting and foundation work.
